Hello Ann Arbor

It is so good to be home! It's been so great having our family together again. Before Kev started school, we were able to take a weekend trip to Valparaiso, Indiana to visit some old friends and meet a new one.  One of the interns Kevin worked with in India is going to school there and the timing worked perfect to meet up with her.  I'm so glad we did, she has such a passion for God's kingdom it was so good to finally meet her.

Kevin started school again this week, and we signed Elijah up for preschool!  I didn't realize how hard picking a preschool would be.  Maybe it's just me being really picky, but I had a difficult time trying to decide what would be best for Elijah.  I thought of doing a co-op program, and a homeschool co-op, but both of those choices just didn't seem to fit into our needs as a family.  We decided on a christian preschool about 20 minutes from our house.  It's a little bit of a drive, but we know a few people sending their kids there and we really loved the atmosphere and faculty.  This was such a big decision for me, he's been with me for all those 3 plus years, and now it's the beginning of school!  Yikes!  I'm such a mom, it's only 2 days a week for 3 hours, so it'll be a good adjusting period for both of us.  This will give me and Jakey some time to ourselves too.

Jacob is showing more and more of his personality, he's almost 21 months and just loves to talk and play and follow his big brother around.  He's putting together his words a little better now, and loves to dance whenever there is music on.  It's pretty cute.  Elijah has been getting really good at his scooter and loves going to the park and going down the "big hills" (they aren't really that big, but to him they are:))  Here's some pictures from the past few weeks.

This was such a fun visit with an amazing family.

Samantha got Elijah a treat, his favorite:)

a little messy, but fun and super easy!

We went over to a friends house to have a back to school dinner and it was mexican theme (my favorite!)  The boys got to hit a pinata, and we all ate some delicious enchiladas and all the fixin's!

This was the highlight for Eli

Jacob was pretty excited too when it was his turn

So Kevin put together a video for our church back in Southern California, about his trip to India explaining who IJM is and what he did over the summer.  He brought these outfits back for the boys which I LOVE.  And I wanted an excuse to dress them up, so we put this pic at the end of the video...
My handsome boys :)

I cannot believe Elijah is beginning pre-school. Where has the time gone? And Jakey is getting so big and you can tell he loves the activities. Again, we so appreciate your taking time to share with us on the west coast so we can feel close to your little family.
