More Fun...

Here are a few things we've been up to these past weeks!

Elijah was able to attend VBS at my parent's church a couple weeks ago with his cousin Jeremy.  They both had a great time and it was exciting to see how much Elijah would ask questions about Jesus and how much we actually got to discuss who Jesus is and how we can love people like Jesus does.  Every night before bed we pray and this was the first time that he initiated it on his own, it touched my heart so dearly and I know he made Jesus smile :-)  I think of how proud I am of my little man when he iniates intimacy with Christ, and how much greater that must be for our Father when we do the same.  At the end of the week they had a BBQ and bounce house to celebrate.  It was a great first experience and he has already said he wants to go to our church's VBS next!

hot dogs! And yes, Jeremy shaved his head! :-)

Today was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick Filet so if you dressed up like a cow you got to eat for free!  My mom put together these 5 minute costumes and we headed over for a free meal :-)  The boys were excited and practiced their "mooing" on the car ride over.

We have been frequenting the beach quite often these days and our dear friend Mariko was able to join us. She recently moved from Texas and is here for the summer before heading over to Japan for a year (she's an adventurer and goes where God calls her!).  I'm so glad we are overlapping our stay in Cali!  We had a blast and the weather was Perfect :-)

Happy 4th of July

We had a really good 4th of July this year! It's been a tradition on my dad's side since so many of the kids all have birthday's on or near the 4th, there is a major birthday bash!  Since we didn't get to celebrate Elijah's birthday with the family (his is May 9th) he got to join the festivities this year with his 6 other cousins (ranging from ages 3 to 16) :-)  And yes that is ALOT of birthday cake!  There was fireworks, water balloons, squirters and lots of yummy food.  A second pair of clothing was required..  the boys had so much fun.  I love the bond of family!  We stayed and partied late into the night, and Jacob suprisingly was all smiles and play till we left which was alittle after 10pm.  He fell asleep in the car and didn't wake up till the next morning (He slept right through a diaper change, and putting his pj's on!)

chasing cousin Ashley around all night!

Elijah wanted a Spiderman cake...so I did the best I could:)
