Kevin finished his first semester at Michigan Law! To celebrate, we took a family expedition to find the snowy owl that had been spotted about an hour from Ann Arbor. We spotted it perched on the roof of a warehouse building by a dock at Lake St. Claire. Then we saw another one on a white picket fence! Two snowy owls in one day is quite a thrill (to a birder anyway:-)) We enjoyed the family time even though it was 30 degrees outside.
Christmas Eve, we were able to fly out to California to visit Elaine's family. It was a great visit and the boys had so much fun. We got to hang out with lots of family and friends whom we missed so much. Elijah and Jacob loved staying with Noni and Grandpa and were thrilled to see all their cousins.
We were also able to celebrate Jacob and Daniel's 1st birthday's together. Jacob was all about the cake! This was his first sweets and let's just say he thoroughly enjoyed it. Daniel on the other hand could have cared less. We did lots of fun things throughout the visit, went to Farell's ice cream parlor, we got to go to the zoo, went to the beach for brunch and played in the tidepools, visited Elaine's grandma and Kevin's grandparents, and went to the arboretum where Elijah and Jeremy "fished" in the creek, visited with friends and celebrated Mya's 3rd birthday. We left feeling so blessed and encouraged by all our friends and family and are so grateful for the opportunity to share such fun family memories with our boys.
