Kentucky Trip

Kevin got a week off for break last week, so we decided to go to Kentucky.  Yes that's right, Kentucky :)  We chose this destination for a couple reasons, one being an idea from Elijah's kid's magazine we had borrowed from the library and second because of  a documentary about oddities in America.  So we drove the 6 hours south to stay in a Wigwam Village, visit the Mammoth Cave National Park, and go to Dinosaur World.  With all Hill family vacations there was bound to be some bumps in our trip.  This time, it happened to be Kevin hurting his back the first day.  He was bed-ridden/in pain for the entire trip, and missed Dinosaur World.   Although he refused to miss the cave tour, so he managed...barely (it's some tight spaces in there!)  The boys loved staying in the Wigwam (really a teepee) even though it wasn't as "renovated" as we had thought and the fact that we were the only ones there! Turns out March in Kentucky on a Sunday and Monday night are not popular tourist days...who woulda thought?;))) Despite all the things that didn't go as planned or not what we had expected, we still managed to have some quality family time.  Although there were times I was not that optimistic.  Proverbs 17:22 really hit home for me, it says, A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. It made me realize how much Satan wants to take away our joy, but only if we let him. Overall we made some funny memories and have some good stories:)

Here's some pictures from our trip, I hope you enjoy!

It was really beautiful, Elijah and Jacob were especially excited to see
