The Hill Family Highlights: August 2012

India

It has been an AMAZING summer. There have been high points and low points, but God's grace has definitely proven faithful yet again :-) When Kevin first found out about his summer internship in India, I was happy, sad, excited, relieved, thankful and nervous all rolled into one. Could we do it? Can we afford it? How will the kids do? How will WE do? Were just some of the questions running through my head. The "not knowing" how it would be, being a world apart for over 2 months was the scariest thing for me. Now as the summer is coming to a close I can most definitely answer YES to all of those questions I had before. YES, we can do it, because following Christ was never meant to be easy. YES we can afford it, because doors will always open when you are obedient. YES, the kids will be loved always and surrounded by people who love them. And they will know how much their Daddy loves them. YES, our marriage will be stronger, we will have a deeper understanding of longing and loving no matter the distance.

We have loved, loved, loved, spending the summer in California. Being surrounded by family and friends has made such a difference and I feel SO blessed to have been able to spend every second with those I love. I have a long list... Thank you to Grammy and Grandma for allowing us to visit and spoiling us for a week, we had so much fun :-) Thank you McPac for the yummy dinner and epic play time with Uncle John. I am so grateful for my parents, who let us take over their house for the past 2 1/2 months. Who have put up with 3x the dirty dishes, clothes, baths and early wake-ups and 2 cats. I know the boys have loved seeing you on a daily basis :-) Thank you Heather and Brad for having such amazing kids whom my children were inseparable from this summer. Thank you all my Fam for celebrating Elijah's birthday way late, he felt so special! Thank you Mariko for filling our summer full of fun jaunts to the beach and beyond :-) Thank you G-Grandma and G-Grandpa Hill and Whitney for driving out to visit us. Thank you Miller fam for the fun playdates and just being so awesome. Thank you Jamie for turning 30 and coming back so we could hang out and Crystal for driving up so we could spend 4 hours at In-n-Out:-).Thank you Kristi, Courtney, Jessica, Jeanine, Nicole, and Kelly for the best beach and photo shoot memories I'll ever have (until next time:-)) Thank you for our church embracing us back with open arms, it felt like we never left. To Brianne in NY and Ashley-we'll always have Tea Lounge :-) Thank you to all the people who have loved and encouraged Kevin in India. This summer was made incredible because of all the memories we've been able to make with all of you! Here's to summer!
