Farmers' Market

So even though it has been raining, we decided to brave the weather and head downtown to the Farmers Market and Hands On Museum. We got lucky and it didn't rain on us. We picked up some molasses cookies, which I had never had before, but they are delicious!

We met a really nice couple a few weeks ago, Samantha and Alex and their son Henry. Alex and Kevin go to school together, so Samantha and I plan a lot of playdates! Elijah and Henry get along really well. We are planning on going apple picking this Friday!

This past weekend we had our first ever Block Party with our neighbors. It was really fun and we got to meet a lot of really nice people. We even got the history of this curious black and white cat that always comes and sits on our porch and stares at Sam and Wally. We just thought he was really friendly, but turns out that the people before us fed him...so I guess he is just hungry. We know his name now, Scarfachio :-)

We've been trying to go to all the parks around our house, there are just so many, it's great! This one in particular Elijah loved because they have lots of soccer fields, a playground and a "jungle" which is just a bunch a trails and paths he can run around in.

School Starts

Mommy and Jakey

Family Picture!

So being from Southern California, I am actually really excited to experience a Michigan Fall! The weather has been cooling down, which is great because that means less mosquitos :-) and we can actually enjoy going outside without the fear of getting bit. Kevin started classes yesterday. It's been a lot of intro stuff, so not too bad so far, but lots and lots of homework. He's been really good about staying on task and we still get some family time too. We've been picking him up at school, in the evening (instead of making him take the bus ;-)) and Elijah is always really excited to 'go to daddy's school', he really wants to go to school now! Today, we went over to a friends house for lunch and a playdate. Elijah had so much fun, why is it that everyone else's toys are SO much better than your own??

We let Elijah feed Jacob his dinner the other night and let's just say Jacob thought it was pretty funny... here's the video:

An update on the boys...Elijah is a little over 2 now, and loves to sing, help out, fix things with his tools, and helps out with Jacob. It's fun because whenever Jacob is crying, he will sing to him because it usually makes him calm down, but he only knows a few songs and it's usually always the ABC song. Jacob is 8 months old, and is just such a happy, smiling baby. He has 2 teeth ( and I think getting some more) loves to talk, and blow rasberrys. He's rolling and sitting, not crawling yet, but hopefully soon. The boys sure keep me busy, but it's such a blessing to be at home with them!
